What is the Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C + BLS Recertification course?

This is a combined recertification course that renews your Standard First Aid, CPR/AED Level C, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications in one day. First Aid is valid for 3 years and BLS is valid for 1 year.

What are the prerequisites for this course?

You must have a current Red Cross Intermediate/Standard First Aid & Level C certificate and a current BLS Certificate from a recognized national training agency. Accepted agencies include: Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Heart & Stroke Foundation (CPR only), Lifesaving Society, and Canadian Ski Patrol.

What if my previous First Aid course was a recertification?

If your previous course was a Red Cross Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR/AED renewal, you must take a full Blended Intermediate/Standard First Aid & BLS course as you cannot recertify consecutively.

What if my certificates have expired?

If your certificates have expired, you are not eligible for this recertification course and must register for the full course.

What proof of certification is required?

You must bring a copy of your valid certificates (digital or hard copy) to class. Failure to provide proof may result in being unable to participate and required to reschedule.

How long is the course?

The course is 8 hours in-class (1 day).

How much does the course cost?

Regular price: $97.35 + HST = $110 Total. Student Rate: $88.50 + HST = $100.00 Total.

What certifications will I receive?

You will receive a Canadian Red Cross Intermediate/Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C Certification (valid for 3 years) and a Red Cross Basic Life Support certificate (valid for 1 year).

What advanced BLS skills are covered?

BLS advanced skills include: Pulse Check, Two-Rescuer Rescue Breathing, Two-Rescuer CPR, BVM (Bag Valve Mask) and pocket mask use, Airway management for blunt force trauma (jaw thrust), and AED protocols for witnessed and un-witnessed arrest.

What agencies are accepted for BLS certification?

Accepted agencies include: Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Heart & Stroke Foundation (CPR only), Lifesaving Society, and Canadian Ski Patrol.

Is this course WSIB approved?

Yes, this recertification course is WSIB-approved and meets workplace safety requirements.

PREREQUISITES – Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C+ Recertification

Valid Certificate
I confirm that I hold a current (non-expired) Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level C certificate. I understand that if my previous course was a recertification, I am not eligible to take another recertification course.

BLS Certification Requirement
I confirm that I hold a current (non-expired) Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate from a recognized national training agency.
Accepted agencies include: Canadian Red Cross, St. John Ambulance, Heart & Stroke Foundation (CPR only), Lifesaving Society, and Canadian Ski Patrol. I understand that if I do not hold a valid BLS certificate from one of the above agencies, I will not be eligible to participate and will be required to reschedule.
Eligibility
I understand that if my certificates have expired, I am not eligible for this recertification course and must register for the full course.
Proof of Certification
I understand that I must bring a copy of my valid certificates (digital or hard copy) to class. Failure to provide proof may result in being unable to participate and required to reschedule.
